Printronix Delivers RFID Price-Performance Benchmark

The SL4M™ is an economical, industrial-grade metal, midrange printer-encoder designed for global Class 1 Gen 2 ultra-high frequency (UHF) RFID applications. It is interoperable with Printronix's family of high-performance SL5000r RFID printers and RFID printer applicators. With more UHF RFID installations than any other manufacturer, Printronix's patented MP2 encoding platform demonstrates the industry's highest read-and-encode yield-performance rates, according to user feedback, and offers the widest breadth of tag support.

Cost-Effective Solutions
For retailers, manufacturers, logistics, and distribution centers, the SL4M offers the most cost-effective RFID solution with its patented MP2 encoding technology. The SL4M gives more customers more choices in printing and encoding, based on applications and production requirements.

The T4M™ RFID-Ready thermal bar code printer is the latest addition to the field-upgradeable Printronix ThermaLine™ printer series. The T4M does not require a factory return for RFID conversion. Easily upgradeable with a variety of user installable options, all T4M printers are certified EPCglobal Gen2 RFID-Ready.  

Effortless Integration
The SL4M and T4M can integrate seamlessly into almost any bar code environment with support for six printer languages and direct XML printing for either 203 or 305 dpi resolution. Their unique user-friendly, icon-driven graphic interface offers easy configuration and installation. Offering up to twice the memory as other products in its class, the printers have 32MB RAM and 8MB Flash for faster processing and label storage

With the SL4M, customers will benefit from the internal 10/100 Base-T Ethernet connectivity which comes standard with the printer. Both the T4M and SL4M printer also feature PrintNet remote management and Unicode with TrueType font support for worldwide compliance and local printing control.

With the widest breadth of Class 1 Gen 2 UHF tag support and superior encoding performance, the SL4M's advanced tag calibration allows users to experiment with new tags and inlays and deplete existing media inventory of non-standard tag positions.

OKI Printing Solutions ships one millionth color printer

Tokyo, Japan (March 06, 2007): OKI Printing Solutions, the world’s second largest manufacturer of business color printers, today shipped its one millionth digital LED color page printer.The one millionth color printer – the award winning C3400 A4 printer – left OKI Printing Solutions’ manufacturing facility in Thailand, which is responsible for 47% of the company’s global manufacturing output.

OKI Printing Solutions’ one millionth color printer shipment is a key milestone in the company’s aggressive climb to the number two position in the global color business printer market for 2006; having held the number four position in 2005.This is due to the company’s competitive growth of approximately 20% in the +10ppm segment, year-on-year for the last four years, as well as the worldwide success of such ranges as the C5000 and C6000 Series business color printers.

PRIMERGY sets the pace with new Quad-Core AMD Opteron™ processors .

New Quad-Core AMD Opteron™ processors are shipping in all AMD processor-based PRIMERGY server models from Fujitsu Siemens Computers. In addition, Fujitsu Siemens Computers introduces an easy upgrade path to customers who bought Dual-Core AMD Opteron processor-powered PRIMERGY servers since March 2007.

Designed to optimize performance when coupled with Quad-Core AMD Opteron™ processors, codenamed ‘Barcelona’, the PRIMERGY RX330 S1, BX630 S2 and Econel 230R server models from Fujitsu Siemens Computers are shipping immediately with Quad-Core processors. Customers who have already purchased these PRIMERGY server models with Dual-Core processors can also take advantage of the increased performance and reduced power demands provided by the new Quad-Core processors. Upgrading is as simple as updating the system BIOS and replacing the processors.

“We designed PRIMERGY servers from the ground up to provide optimized performance and power economy when coupled with Quad-Core AMD Opteron processors,” says Jens-Peter Seick, Senior Vice President, Enterprise Server Business at Fujitsu Siemens Computers. “Now that the processors have arrived, we are introducing an easy upgrade path allowing customers who already have the server hardware to unlock extra performance and gain system efficiency by switching to the ‘Barcelona’ chips.
